I currently sell
a wide range of hand-embroidered Cashmere & Pashmina Wool shawls &
Stoles. Needlework, called
Sozni work in Kashmir, is a more delicate
weave with designs ranging from small intricate flowers to very detailed
patterns. Hook Work,
called Ari Work in Kashmir, is usually the
heavier designed patterns, and this type of embroidery is similar to that of
crochet and even crewel, but it is not the same as either. Using cotton thread
(not Wool as the cotton remains in place longer!!) the designs use a variety of
colours and shade, and the designs are expertly and accurately woven into the
wool.
Each item has
been hand-crafted to a very high standard. And each item is individually priced
based on the amount of work that was involved in the production process.
