I currently sell a wide range of hand-embroidered Cashmere & Pashmina Wool shawls & Stoles.
Each item has been hand-crafted to a very high standard. And each item is individually priced based on the amount of work that was involved in the production process.

There are 2 types of embroidery used:

Needlework, called Sozni work in Kashmir, is a more delicate weave with designs ranging from small intricate flowers to very detailed patterns.

Hook Work, called Ari Work in Kashmir, is usually the heavier designed patterns, and this type of embroidery is similar to that of crochet and even crewel, but it is not the same as either. Using cotton thread (not Wool as the cotton remains in place longer!!) the designs use a variety of colours and shade, and the designs are expertly and accurately woven into the wool.
