About KV Creations
KV Creations started as Kashmir Valley Creations, but was later changed as the name was deemed too long, and confusing with Cashmere as in the type of wool. KV Creations is an importer, retailer and wholesaler in ethically traded rugs, wall hangings and cushion covers made by skilled craftspeople in the villages in Kashmir, India.
Kashmir has been admired for 100's of years and is often referred to as "Paradise on Earth". Situated in the North Eastern part of the Indian sub-continent it is regarded as the Alpines of the Himalayas. Despite recent troubles, the Kashmiris remain proud of their rich heritage, culture and land. Indeed they are very hospitable and warm people.
Kashmir has a long tradition of producing some of the World's finest fabrics (Wool & Silk), and handicrafts.
The company originated over 3 years ago by Jonathan Goldstone, whom travelling through India fell in love with Kashmir, its people and its traditions including the craft of embroidered rugs.
The company has a very successful relationship with 2 designers in Kashmir with whom we work with to develop our designs and who manage the relationship we have with the families we work with.
